Nanofabrication of metallic and superconducting tungsten-carbon nanostructures using focused ion beams

The prefix nano- is used in the International System of units to denote a factor of 10-9. The most relevant unit for this work that uses this prefix is the nanometer (nm), which equals 10-9 = 0:000000001 meters, or one millionth of a millimeter. The whole nine orders of magnitude that separate the nanoscale from the daily life scale are no trivial matter.
